The grand opening of Farmer Joe’s Fresh Market in Cape Coral was scheduled for 8:00 am on Tuesday, January 18th 2021, but the celebration actually began earlier that day. As one of the owners, Lee Snyder Sr, watched his new team get into place for an opening day photo, he couldn’t help but smile. His goal of bringing real food back to the family dinner table and making our communities a better place by creating jobs and championing local products was about to be shared with the customers that were already lining up in the parking lot.
Lee shared some thoughts with his team and the cheering and energy from them showed they were ready to go. The teams went inside to huddle with their individual departments and get ready to welcome the Cape Coral area residents who have been waiting for a fresh market like this one. The staff’s excitement was obvious, and they were ready to share it with the rest of the community.
A few minutes before 8:00 am, Lee Sr and his wife said a few words to the crowd that had gathered for the grand opening, and then it happened. The ribbon was cut, and the doors opened.
Once inside, customers were greeted with smiling faces and free coffee. Sampling stations dotted the store, letting customers experience Farmer Joe’s fresh-squeezed orange juice, different kinds of locally sourced produce, items from the store’s Homemade Kitchen Department, and even fresh, high-quality roast beef.
Customers started streaming into the store. The excitement and anticipation that the Farmer Joe’s team brought to the event was evident. For the rest of the day, customers flowed into the store with scarcely a break in the line.
January 18, 2022, may have started out with the goal of getting the store open and giving Cape Coral an independent, family-owned, and operated fresh market that is committed to providing customers with farm-fresh food for less, but it ended with more than that. It ended with happy customers and happy employees.
Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with us!
